Debarah Elaine Zimmerman, 75, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born in Punxsutawney on June 11, 1947, a daughter of the late Lester Ernest Kromer and Jeannine E. (Means) Kromer.
Debbie was a 1965 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
On August 28, 1965, she married Paul Edward Zimmerman. They enjoyed nearly fifty-seven years and raised two sons.
She and her husband Paul were members of the Jefferson County Animal Rescue Team.
Debbie enjoyed her dog Fanny, her pony Fonzi and her twenty-five year old African Grey Parrot.
She enjoyed anything that involved needles, whether it was crocheting, knitting or quilting, she was talented at it all. She was a good cook and liked to bake. She took great care of her husband, Paul and she loved her family. She looked forward to the holidays each year.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Tom Zimmerman and wife Michele, and Tim Zimmerman and wife Michelle, all of Punxsutawney; four grandchildren, Garrett Zimmerman and wife Isabella, Tanner Zimmerman, Tessa Zimmerman, all of Punxsutawney, and Ty Zimmerman and fiancé Kathryn of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
In accordance with her wishes there will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
Her ashes will be interred at Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
