David Allen Bennett

David Allen Bennett, 83, of Punxsutawney, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, peacefully at home with his surrounded by family.

He was born July 11, 1938, in Punxsutawney the son of Ella Grace (McQuown) and James Robert Bennett. 

On Nov. 11, 1958, he married Dorothy Jean Wolfe who survives.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, playing lottery, playing cards with his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He also enjoyed working on cars and woodwork.

David was employed by Lorree Footwear, Penn Dot, Doverspike Coal Company.

David is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Dorothy Bennett, two daughters, Brenda Bott and husband (William) of Florida, Alice Jordt and husband (John) of Hamilton, three sons David Bennett and wife (Nancy) of Punxsutawney, Eric Bennett and wife (Ann) of Sigel; Aaron Bennett and wife (Connie) of Punxsutawney; eleven grandchildren, Raymond Bott and wife (Nicole) of Centereach; NY, Robert Bott and girlfriend (Jennifer Rosa) of Farmingville, NY; Amanda Jordt, Scott Jordt of Hamilton PA; Kristen Jordt and Fiancé (Tim Fusco) of Punxsutawney, PA; Jessica Bennett, Ashley Bennett of Punxsutawney, PA; Christopher Bennett of Sigel, PA; Brandon Bennett and fiancée (Alexandra Long) of Pittsburgh, PA; Louise Bennett, Nathan Bennett, of Punxsutawney; Four Great Grandchildren Giovanna, Thomas, Sarah, Lilly Bott of Centereach, NY; He is also survived by one sister Emma Grace Snyder of Brookville, PA, two brothers Henry Bennett of Rossiter, PA, Joseph Bennett of Phillipsburg, PA.

In addition to his parents David was preceded in death by his grandson William Bott, three siblings, James Bennett, Beatrice (Dee) Jarbeck, Shirley Bennett Klein and four in- law’s Darrell Snyder, Diane Bennett, Rudolph Klein, Jane Bennett,

Friends will be received from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friday, February 11,2022, and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Cox.

Interment will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery, Mahaffey.
