David K Anthony

David Kim Anthony, 81, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born in Punxsutawney on July 22, 1942, a son of the late L. Thomas Anthony and Kathryn (Gould) Anthony.

On February 23, 1963, he married the former Mary Jane Conrad.  She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.  They enjoyed sixty years of marriage together.

Dave worked as a heavy equipment operator and proudly helped build many roads around the region, he retired from HRI Corporation.  Following retirement, he loved to mow grass for hours and hours each week, it kept his mind and hands busy doing something constructive.

He was a good husband and father to his children. He really enjoyed the grandchildren above all else.

In addition to his wife Mary Jane, he is survived by four children, Brenda Anthony of Jacksonville, North Carolina, David (Paulette) Anthony of West Moreland City, Sharon (Frank) Roberts of Punxsutawney, and Brian (Kristy) Anthony of Kittanning; six grandchildren, Nathan Berti, Jamie Berti, Amber (Mark) Lang, Cory Anthony, Matthew Anthony and Brooke Anthony; four great grandchildren, Devin, Gavin, Ava and Koryn; one sister, Kay Anthony of Punxsutawney and one sister in-law, Nancy Anthony.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a brother, Kon Anthony.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or viewing.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
