Daniel Andrew Niver, 53, of Punxsutawney, passed away July 24, 2023, at home.
He was born on April 17, 1970, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Keith Merritt Niver and Dorothy (Zetts) Niver.
Daniel worked as a foreman for C&H Fencing. He was a dependable, hard worker with meticulous attention to detail.
Daniel will be remembered for his happy go lucky personality, sense of humor and being a workaholic - if you had the pleasure to know him, you would know he was one of a kind.
He enjoyed collecting western and Nascar memorabilia and baseball cards. But above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and dog, Riggs.
Daniel is survived by his two children: Brennan Niver and Chelsea of Burnside and Kassi Niver and Jesse of Punxsutawney; a granddaughter, Sydney; three brothers, William Niver and his wife Carol of Reynoldsville, John Niver and his wife Shelley of Big Run, Ward “Buster” Niver and his wife Kathy of Sykesville; two sisters: Bonnie Reiter and her husband Alton of Big Run and Cheryl Olinger and Stanley of Lower Burrell; a brother-in-law, Rudy Peace of Punxsutawney.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by a son, Derek Niver and a sister, Deborah Peace.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 7pm with Pastor Ben Fitzgerald officiating. His ashes will be interred at Lakelawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the family.
