Colleen Marie Schott, 66, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born in Punxsutawney on September 09, 1956, a daughter of the late Richard Leroy Thompson and Amelia Delores (Stellabouta) Thompson.
Colleen worked as a Peerstar specialist in the community and at Jefferson County Jail for many years. She had compassion and kindness for those she interacted with and hoped to help them in some small way. Her heart was big and she would help anyone in need.
Her biggest joy was her grandson, Logan Patrick Schott. She was so proud of him and enjoyed spending time with him. She also loved all animals, particularly her cats Mikey, Tommy and Momma Cat.
Spending the evening at Cloe Lake watching the sunset was the perfect end to Colleen’s day.
She is survived by her only son, Brandon Patrick Schott and wife Amanda of Strattanville; grandson Logan Patrick Schott; one sister, Georgina Young of Punxsutawney; four brothers, Gary Thompson and wife Sharon of Chambersburg, Jerome Thompson and wife Lois of Punxsutawney, Richard “Dick” Thompson and wife Raylene of Punxsutawney, and LaVerne “Punk” Thompson and wife Yvonne of Punxsutawney.
Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Jen Chaffee.
Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
