Clarence "Bud" Aldridge Obituary

Clarence “Bud” Robert Aldridge, 81, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Tuesday, November 09, 2021, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor.

He was born in Victor, West Virginia on April 26, 1940, a son of the late Robert A. Aldridge and Virginia B. (Johnson) Aldridge.

Mr. Aldridge was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Cuban Blockade, he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and a second good conduct medal. During his service he was stationed at the Naval Photographic Center in Washington, DC. and specialized in motion picture operations. He also worked as a camera man for a local television station while stationed in DC.

Bud was first married to Edith DeGothseir. She preceded him in death. While frequenting Eat & Park for breakfast and to read his daily paper, he met his second wife Darlene L. (Bowser) Depp. They enjoyed thirty years of marriage.

Mr. Aldridge worked as a closed-circuit television operator at West Virginia University Hospital for many years. He later worked as a crew chief and layout designer for American Homes. He was very particular and took great pride in a job well done.

In his free time, he enjoyed riding snow mobiles and wood working. His all-time favorite thing was telling stories and memories of his life growing up in West Virginia.

He is survived by his wife Darlene, five children, Donna Aldridge and husband Gary Nestor of Morgantown, West Virginia, Patty Haines and husband Rob or Mt Morris, PA, Ted Depp and wife Stacy of Rossiter, Deneen Bair and husband Ron of Big Run, and Richard Depp and wife Michelle of Elkins, West Virginia; son in-law Roger Cleveland; grandchildren, David Krushansky II, Chad Smith, Samantha Jo Reed and Matt Krushansky, Ashlee Bish and husband Chris, Bryan Buffington and wife Bree, Erica Yates, Justin Evans and wife Alicia, Sydney Ninness and husband Tyler and Liam Depp, thirteen great grandchildren. one brother, Harry P. Aldridge and wife Brenda of Morgantown; one sister, Mary Ann Alonso and husband J.P.

Preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Edith, two daughters, Becky (Depp) Cleveland and Pamela Jo Depp.

Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Joseph Buterbaugh.
