Carol "Toots" Leroy Senior

Carol Leroy “Toots” (Wingert) Senior, 80, of Falls Creek, passed away surrounded by family members on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born on August 06, 1943, at home in Big Run, a daughter of the late Paul Otis Wingert and Emma Elizabeth (Jones) Wingert.

“Toots” was a 1961 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

On September 26, 1964, she married Alan Hugh Senior.  He preceded her in death on February 22, 2020.

She and her husband Alan formerly owned S.W. Triumph in Falls Creek.  They loved to ride motorcycles after they were done working on the weekends.  “Toots” had her own Triumph and could ride with the best of them.

She was an excellent seamstress and could sew anything with perfection.  She enjoyed going out to eat, shopping and relaxing at home with her cats.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Elizabeth Marie Senior of Sevierville, Tennessee, and Audrey Gale Senior of Falls Creek; one granddaughter, Emily Elizabeth Senior; one great grandchild, Kayson Senior; one sister, Cathy (Wingert-Sones) Lovelace.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Alan, four brothers, Robert, William, Thomas and James Wingert.

Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Doug Wolfe.

Interment will be at McClure Cemetery, Big Run.

Memorial donations may be made in Carol’s name to the Gateway Humane Society or DuSan Ambulance.
