Carol Joan Fisher

Carol Joan Fisher, 78, of Punxsutawney, passed away August 28, 2022 at her home.

She was born on December 23, 1943 in Punxsutawney the daughter of the late Robert Carlton Farmery and Dorothy (Pollock) Farmery.

Retired, Carol had previously worked for Punxsutawney National Bank and was the co-owner of Carol and Bobs Green House. She also served as Henderson Township Secretary for over 20 years.

Carol was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ and was a former member of the Eastern Star.

Her hobbies included gardening, bird watching and watching old crime mystery shows. She was an avid reader and was proud of her book collection.

She is survived by one daughter, Kristen Brooke States and husband Jon of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Shaylyn Agnello and her husband Derick of Stump Creek and Robert Short of Punxsutawney; two step grandchildren, Alan States of Punxsutawney and Ashley States of Ohio; three great grandchildren Hunter, Natalee and Tanner Agnello, one step great grandchild, Ezra Sweetland; and a sister, Nancy Smyers and her husband Calvin of Big Run; and her special grand dog, who she often referred as “not a real dog” Elmo.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband Robert Fisher.

Friends will be received from 11am until 2pm on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run. A funeral service will follow at 2pm at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Barry Fillman.

Interment will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery
