Carol L. DeLacour

Carol L. DeLacour, 65, of Coolspring, passed away May 30, 2023 at her home.

She was born on November 15, 1957 in Punxsutawney, the daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth (Porrin) Young. On February 14, 1992 she married Nevin DeLacour, who survives.

Retired, Carol worked for International Jensen (Rola) for many years.

Carol was a hardworking, devoted wife and mother. She took enjoyment in working on different projects outside of her home with her husband Nevin. She enjoyed walking, mowing and cleaning her home.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Nevin DeLacour; a son, Jeremy Rake and his wife Nikki of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Audrianna DeLacour and her fiancé John Pantuso of Gifford, PA; two brothers: Robert Young and his wife Laurie of Punxsutawney, Kenneth Young and his wife Cheryl of Dayton; five sisters: Joyce Chesley and her husband Jim of Reynoldsville, Bonnie Hullihen and her husband Jim of Punxsutawney, Shirley Kube of Templeton, Pa, Barbara Cornman and her husband Sam of Treasure Lake and Connie Duminske and her companion Terry Rhoads.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Samuel Kube and John Duminske.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney.  An additional hour of viewing will be held from 12pm until the hour of services on Friday at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the funeral home with Orthodox Sub-Deacon Joe Young officiating. Burial will be in Markton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Carol’s memory to any local animal shelter or the family asks that you plant a flower in your own personal garden in her memory.
