Bruce Albert Bloxdorf of Punxsutawney, passed away April 11, 2023. Bruce was born May 29, 1931 in Kenosha, WI, the son of Albert Julius and Ethel Mae (Howland) Bloxdorf. Bruce enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Korean Conflict. After the war, Bruce was stationed at Camp Lejuene, NC where he met fellow Marine Barbara Lee (Reighard) Bloxdorf whom he married on August 6, 1955. Upon discharge from the military, they moved back to Kenosha where Bruce resumed employment at Anaconda American Brass working his way up to supervisor. After relocating to PA in 1977, Bruce was employed with Benjamin Coal Company and Bloxdorf Contracting. He also lived and worked in Northern VA for a period. After retiring to PA, Bruce spent his time driving throughout the area visiting friends and acquaintances. Once he was no longer able to drive, he continued his rounds throughout Punxy on his motorized scooter. He best days were when someone spotted his Korean War Veteran hat and offered him a handshake or bought him a coke in thanks for his service. Bruce was known for his love of sharing stories of his life, esp his childhood, his time in the Marines and working at "the Brass". He enjoyed visiting the National Museum of the Marine Corps, camping, fishing, bowling, OBX trips, cars, socializing, reading, word search puzzles, watching war or western movies and a good Prime Rib. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers and the Saint Louis Cardinals. In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived daughters, Kelly Williams of San Antonio, TX; Sandra Bloxdorf of Woodbridge, VA; and son, Brett (Susan) Bloxdorf of Mahaffey, PA; sister Carol Bloxdorf of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Tyler (Jess) Williams; Seth (Sarah) Williams; Aubrey Bloxdorf; Sophia Bloxdorf; and great granddaughter, Eliza Williams. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by twin sons, Matthew and Mark Bloxdorf; daughter, Stephanie Bloxdorf; and son-in-law David Williams.
