Brenda Ann Gaffney, 80, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
She was born in Punxsutawney on November 30, 1943, a daughter of the late William James Gaffney and Betty Jane (Snyder) Gaffney.
Brenda worked as a Medical Technologist for over ten years at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. She later earned a bachelor’s degree in child development and human relations.
She was a member of the Woodland Ave Methodist Church.
Her resilience was truly remarkable; despite the hardships she faced, she remained the pillar of strength for her family, never losing her faith, her compassion, or her ability to find joy in life’s smallest moments. Her legacy is one of love and kindness.
She is survived by one daughter, Betsy and husband Nick; two grandchildren, Ashton and Emaline; nephew’s Billy, Brian and Geoff; one niece, Melissa; five great nephews and two great-great nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, one brother, William Gaffney and one sister, Susan Gaffney.
Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Doug Wolfe.
Interment will be at Circle Hill Cemetery.
