Beverley Maureen Jones

Beverley Maureen Jones, 76, of Rossiter, passed away at her daughter’s home on Saturday, February 05, 2022.

She was born in Thurmaston, Leicestershire England on March 16, 1945, a daughter of the late Reginald Archer and Elizabeth (Marsh) Archer.

Beverley met the love of her life, Calvin Richard Jones at a dance.  He was stationed in England with the United States Air Force.  They married on June 2, 1962, raised two children and enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage. Calvin preceded her in death on July 15, 2015.

Mrs. Jones had a cheerful, gentle spirit, she smiled often and enjoyed being around people.  Following the loss of her husband, she enjoyed visiting the local restaurant circuit with her son Jim.  She quickly made many friends with the servers and patrons of each establishment.  When she became a patient at Hahne Cancer Center, she didn’t leave without wishing others well and was their cheerleader for their perseverance and recovery.

She liked to sing, loved her children and grandchildren and her faithful four-footed companion, Buddy. 

She is survived by two children, James Calvin Jones and Deborah Ann Spencer and husband Gary, all of Rossiter; two grandchildren, Justin Reginald Spencer and wife Nicole Jo of Rossiter and Jennifer Elizabeth Spencer of Indiana, PA; three sisters, Janice Harris and husband Derek of Brandon-Suffolk, England, Carole Harper and husband Tony of Rossiter and Avril Archer of Thurmaston, England.

Preceded in death by her parents, dear husband Calvin and granddaughter, Melissa Spencer.

Friends will be received from 11a.m. until 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Brian King.

Interment will follow at Dever’s Cemetery, Rossiter.
