Bernard Gasper Obituary

Bernard Charles Gasper, 61, of Luthersburg, (formerly of Punxsutawney) passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Snyder Memorial Home in Marienville.

He was born in Punxsutawney on May 15, 1964, the son of the late Bernard Stephen Gasper and Mary Kathryn (Wood) Gasper.

Bernard attended Punxsutawney Area High School.

He worked as a carpenter, roofer and autobody.  He was a dependable hardworking man that could accomplish whatever task was placed before him.

In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking walks and sitting at home watching his pond.  His dogs Lady and Rippy brought him companionship and comfort.  Bernard was a “buddy” to anybody, he was big hearted, never judged others, but accepted them as they were.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two children, Stephen Gasper and Madison Gasper, both of Punxsutawney; two sisters, Mary (Cesare) Ferrari of DuBois and Amy Gasper of New York; nieces, Estelle Ferrari, Chelsea Gasper, Taylor LaMora and one nephew, Chase LaMora; several aunts and numerous cousins.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, inc, Punxsutawney.

His ashes will be interred at Circle Hill Cemetery.
