Avanell “Abby” Janette (Clouser) Pifer, 92, of Big Run/Henderson Township went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021 in her son, Max Jr’s, home after a long battle with lung cancer. She was born on November 23, 1928 in DuBois, a daughter of the late Floyd Jackson Clouser and Julia Oledia (Hollopeter) Clouser. She was a graduate of the DuBois High School Class of 1946. On September 20, 1946, Abby married Max E. Pifer Sr., together they enjoyed sixty-six years of marriage. She was a member of the Paradise Community United Church of Christ. She was beloved and will be missed by all the many nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Connie Daugherty, that called her daily to talk and ask her advice.  She is survived by two sons, Max E. She is survived by five grandchildren: Ryan Pifer, Queens borough of NYC, Dustin Pifer, King George, VA., Sunni Jean (Heath) Reddinger, Destiny Pifer, and Adam Pifer, all of Punxsutawney, PA. She treasured her time spent with her 3 great-grandchildren: Gavin Pifer, Easton Reddinger, and Dartanyan Pifer.  Avanell was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Max, her son, Bernard, four brothers: Sylvester, Theodore J.
