Steven Schepis Obituary

Steven John Schepis, 65, of Pittsburgh, passed away on January 20, 2019, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born on November 1, 1953, a son of the late Nicholas Schepis and Lois Jean (Crawford) Schepis. Steven was a graduate of the Punxsutawney Area High School. He was employed as a Pennsylvania State Civil Service worker in Duquesne. He was a peaceful, quiet, and kind man. He never wanted to bother anyone or burden them with his problems, he loved his friends and was always there for them. Steven is survived by two sisters, Kim Whitesell and Stacey Stankewich, and one brother, David Schepis, all of Punxsutawney. He was preceded in death by his parents; his life partner, Jerry Kauffman; and one brother, Mark Schepis. According to Steven’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney, PA. His internment will be in Temple/Warsaw Cemetery.
