Ronald Skinner Obituary

Ronald Lee Skinner, 51, of Punxsutawney, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 09, 2018.

He was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania, on October 27, 1966 a son of the late Ronald Laverne and Violet Jean (Foltz) Skinner.

Mr. Skinner was a United States Air Force Veteran that served during Operation Desert Storm.

On January 01, 2003 he married the former Sharon Marie Pyles.  She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

He was a member and a Deacon of the Assembly of God Church in Walston.

Mr. Skinner worked as a Corrections Officer as SCI Forest State Penitentiary in Marienville.

Ron’s first priority in life was his family, he enjoyed spending time with all of them.  He also enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.

In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived by five children, Andrew Skinner and wife Leslie of Seattle, Washington, Megan Skinner of Cypress, Texas, Kaitlynne Skinner of Boise, Idaho, Morgan Skinner and fiancé Ben and Nathaniel “Nate” Pyles of Punxsutawney; one grandson, Chase Skinner; one sister, Cathy Waugaman and husband Willliam of Elderton; mother and father in law, Bill and Ethel Pyles of Albion; brother in law, Billy Pyles of Albion; sister in law April Jacklett and husband Chad of North Carolina; niece Rebecca Feracioly of Kittanning and nephew William Waugaman, Jr and wife Nikki of Butler.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday,  September 12, 2018 at the Assembly of God Church in Walston.

A funeral service will be held at the Church at 11 a.m Thursday, officiated by Pastors Mike Garvey and Devin Wintermeyer.

Interment will follow at Markton Cemetery, where military honors will accorded by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard.
