Robert O. Penman

Robert O. Penman, Sr., 76, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville.

He was born on April 21, 1941 in Big Run, a son of the late David R. and Betty  Penman.

Mr. Penman was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He married the former Maxine Marie Hoover.  She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

Bob worked as a truck driver for over thirty years, and spent a lot of time driving all over the country.

His enjoyments were watching Nascar, hunting, and scratching lottery tickets.  He especially enjoyed his dogs, Lena, Jake and Lacy.

He is survived by seven children, Robert O. Penman, Jr and wife Patty of Punxsutawney, Juanita Smith and husband Brian of Punxsutawney, David R. Penman and wife Stephanie of Punxsutawney, Sharon Irwin and husband J.T. of Curwensville, Johnny Penman and wife Tammy of Rossiter, Derik Penman, of Punxsutawney, and Jessie States and husband Ryan of Oliveburg; ten grandchildren, Devan Penman, Dylan Smith, Emily Smith, Teishia Penman, Desiree Penman, Jeremy Irwin, Makayla Penman, Arianna Gunter, Zachary States and Bradley States; three step grandchildren, Dakota and Kaitlyn Glatt and Shaina Troup; four step great grandchildren; one brother, David Henry of Delancey.

Preceded in death by his parents, his son Bradley Dale Penman, two brothers, Gary Henry and Haul “Butch” Reiter; and sister, Carolyn Bevak.

There will be no visitation.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
