Robert Pearce Obituary

Robert Pearce Jr, 67, of Home, Pa. passed away quietly on Friday, August 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Pearce was born on April 29, 1951 in Gaskill Township to the late Robert Sr and Billie P. (Wazelle) Pearce.

Robert graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1969 and was self-employed as the owner-operator of Robert Pearce Hardwoods. When not immersed in his business, Robert enjoyed the company of his family, hunting, fishing and dancing. In addition to his passion for his family, Robert especially liked to travel and scuba dive as often as his busy schedule permitted.

He is survived by his daughter Sabrina and husband Eric Manners of Home, Pa; his son, Cody and wife Danielle Pearce of Home, Pa; his step-children, Kenneth Pearce, Joshua Pearce, and Kasey Schaffer. His grandchildren include, Zakkary Painter, Reagan Pearce and Wyatt Pearce. Robert is also survived by several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Robert’s surviving brothers are Thomas and wife Janet Pearce of Home; George and wife Kimberly Pearce of Punxsutawney, and Kevin Pearce of Reynoldsville. His sisters are, Lucille and husband Steve Null of Reynoldsville, Patricia and husband Jay Elkin of Shelocta, and Angel and husband Richard Gallina of Reynoldsville.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Cathy Pearce; his two sons, Robert Pearce III and Jason Pearce; and his step-daughter, Kayla Schaffer.

Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 and on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with pastor Charles Prevot officiating.

Robert will be interred at the Pleasant Hill EUB Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Robert’s memory can be made to 365 Hospice, 119 S. Main Street, Carrolltown, Pa 15722.
