Robert Paul Fairman, 58, of Punxsutawney passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
He was born on January 27, 1960 in Punxsutawney a son of Stephen William Fairman of Punxsutawney and the late Anna Jane (Thomas) Fairman.
On September 26, 1992 he married the former Peggy Jean Pearce. She survives and resides in Punxsutawney. Together they attended the Grange Church of God.
Mr. Fairman worked for Dobson Construction for over thirty years, he then worked as a gas well tender for Phillips Production and XTO for ten years, he recently started working for Beverage Air in Brookville.
Being outdoors was Bob’s favorite place to be, he loved hunting, gardening and mowing the fields on his tractor. He had a great “dry” sense of humor and he enjoyed joking around.
He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Peggy, he is survived by his father Stephen, his son, Christopher Paul Fairman of Punxsutawney and his fiancé Erin Kennedy of Hamilton; two brothers, Stephen Fairman, Jr of Punxsutawney, Thomas Fairman of Punxsutawney; one sister, Jane McClimans and husband Rob of Wattsburg; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. and 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Stouffer.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grange Church of God or the American Diabetes Foundation.
