Richard Neal Obituary

Richard Allen Neal, 69, of Rossiter, passed away Friday, January 25, 2019 at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born on August 10, 1949 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Lisle Earl Neal and Ethel Maxine (Unsworth) Neal.

Mr. Neal served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971.

On April 27, 1968 he married the former Wanda L. Whitesell.  She survives and resides in Rossiter.

Dick’s enjoyments were hunting, fishing and gardening.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Tyler, Kiera, and Derek.

In addition to his wife Wanda, he is survived by one son, Jason A. Neal and fiancé Stephanie Dorsey of Punxsutawney; three grandchildren, Tyler Neal, Kiera Dorsey and Derek Conrad; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Dennis Neal and wife Sharon of New York, Terry Neal of St. Mary’s, Thomas Neal of Rossiter, Douglas Neal and wife Darlene of Brockway; three sisters, Carol Deahl and husband William of St Marys, Donna Yeaney of Punxsutawney and Kathryn Uncapher of New York.

Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Kenneth Neal.

Friends will be received from 12-2 p.m. Monday at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Don Jones.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill EUB cemetery, Gaskill Township.
