Richard “Rick” Allen Mills, 59, of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at home.  Rick was born on February 15, 1959 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Albert William and Rose Marie (Joy) Mills.

Rick served in the United States Air Force as a Security Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1986.  After serving his country, Rick pursued his love for law enforcement and became a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper in 1988 where he served for twenty years before retiring in 2008.  After retirement, Rick kept busy in his woodworking shop and participating in his favorite pastimes including golf, playing pool, darts leagues, and watching the Pittsburgh Penguins play.  He was a huge “Pens” fan and enthusiastically looked forward to each game and especially reveled in the team wins.

Rick is survived by two children, Matthew Mills and wife Nicole of Bartlesville, OK, and Chelsea Zaccagnini and husband Tim of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Daniel Mills, Francesca Zaccagnini, and Calvin Mills; four brothers, Al Mills of Pittsburgh, Russ Mills and wife Patty of Pittsburgh, Earl Mills and wife Vicky of ID, and John Mills of Pittsburgh; one sister, Joyce Hoerter of NY.
