Mrs. Phyllis G. Serian, 91 of Rossiter passed away quietly at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital on Monday, September 3, 2018. Mrs. Serian was born in Rossiter on November 23, 1926 to the late Earl and Mary (Vandyke) Altman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Arch Serian, who passed away on July 3, 2014.
During her lifetime, Phyllis was known as a hard worker who always got the job done. She was a homemaker, an employee of Pramco Sportswear, and even worked as a secretary at Altman’s Garage which was owned and operated by her dad and uncle. Phyllis loved to feed and watch the many varieties of wild birds which frequented her bird feeders. She enjoyed keeping busy and cherished the peacefulness of the outdoors. But, most of all, Phyllis loved her children and grandchildren who were the center of her world; and every moment together, was a special moment filled with love and happy memories.
Phyllis is survived by her seven children, Joe Serian and wife Sondra of Indiana; Dave Serian of Rossiter; Dan Serian and wife Kim of Rossiter; Nancy Stamler and companion Paul Prutznal of Rossiter; Jennifer Serian of Punxsutawney; Susan Serian-Rossey and husband Ron of Punxsutawney; and Kirk Serian of Rossiter. She is also survived by a brother, Jim Altman and wife Mary of Arizona; a sister, Nancy Fye of Erie; four grandchildren, Mandy Stamler, Jay Stamler and wife Julie, Alexis Serian and Lee Rossey. Her great-grandchildren are, Landon Myers, Jennings Stamler, and Geneva Stamler.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arch Serian.
In keeping with the family’s wishes, funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc of Punxsutawney.
Phyllis will be interred at the Church of the Resurrection Cemetery in Rossiter.
