Paul McClinton Jones II, 70, of Punxsutawney died Friday, December 28, 2018 at his camp in Medix Run, Elk County, PA. He was born on November 11, 1948 in Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, a son of the late Paul McClinton and Patricia Ann (Minnick) Jones. Paul faithfully served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War stationed at Lakehurst, New Jersey, readily available for combat if called to duty. On February 09, 1974, he married Patricia Ann Rittiger. Together they enjoyed forty-four years of marriage. Prior to his retirement, Paul worked as a Caseworker for the Jefferson County Assistance Office. He was not a social man that enjoyed being in a crowd, but he easily made friends with those whom he had the opportunity to meet one on one. He was a well-liked man respected by many. His enjoyments were his family, spending time outdoors, going hunting and fishing, and chopping wood at camp. He enjoyed watching sports and was a fan of all the Pittsburgh teams, particularly the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins. In addition to his wife Pat, he is survived by two children, Paul M. Jones III, of Indiana, and Dr. Jessica L. (Jones) Haggerty and David M. Kovalchick of DuBois; one sister, Susan (Jones) Horrigan of Shaler Township; one sister in law, Debra Jones of Apollo. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy D. Jones. According to Paul’s wishes, there will be no viewing. Because of his love to spend quiet time in the serene nature of Moshannon Forrest, memorial donations may be made in Paul’s memory to Moshannon State Forrest, c/o John Hecker, District Forrester, 3372 State Park Road, Penfield, PA 15849.
