Kevin Aul Obituary

Kevin Allen Aul, 46, of Punxsutawney passed away suddenly at UPMC, Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.  Kevin was born on July 16, 1971 to Kevin Leroy and Kathy Marlene (Brown) Aul. His parents survive and reside in Punxsutawney.

Kevin married Nichole Lynn Painter on May 1, 2010.  She survives him and resides in Punxsutawney.

Kevin was a kind and gentle man with a huge sense of humor and a wonderful outlook on life, despite his nearly life-long battle with cancer which was diagnosed when he was just 9 years old.  Kevin never complained and persevered, enduring the many challenges he faced with a brave heart and an endearing attitude.

In his earlier years, he owned a race car which he raced with at Marion Center Speedway; he enjoyed art and creating vinyl graphics; and caring for his dog “Cooper”.  When he was in his twenties, he trained hard for, competed, and won the title of “Mr. Puniverse” at Kennywood sponsored by WDVE.  Kevin was just that kind of a guy.  He enjoyed life, clowning around, and was never afraid to take a chance.  Although Kevin had many interests and hobbies, his biggest love was his wife and family whom he adored and never put anything second to them.  Kevin was a brave fighter who never gave up hope and lived life to the fullest enjoying every waking moment.  He will certainly be missed by so many who loved him so dearly.

In addition to his parents, and his wife Nichole, Kevin is survived by two brothers, Randy Aul and his wife Michelle of Punxsutawney and Curtis Aul and his wife “Sis” of Punxsutawney.   He is also survived by his four nieces, Jessica, Cassie, Chloe, and Maggie Aul, his two nephews, Dylan Aul and Brandon Weaver, and his three great-nieces, Dakota, Jayde, and Rylee; mother and father in law, Diane and Ernie Painter.

Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Donald V. Brown and Jane Toven, paternal grandparents, Merle and Gladys V. Aul, sister in law, Samantha Painter.

Friends will be received from 3-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.  A second viewing will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney on Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. followed by a funeral service at the church at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Clint Phillips officiating.

Kevin will be interred at Lakelawn Cemetery in Reynoldsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kevin’s memory to the Grace United Methodist Church Bible School Fund.
