Katherine Elizabeth Neal

Katherine Elizabeth “Betty” Neal, 76, of (the Markton area) Coolspring, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2018 at home.

She was born on December 12, 1941 in Lackawanna County, a daughter of the late Clarence Lee and Katherine Leona (Malcolm) Pearce.

On August 31, 1960 she married Clair Edward Neal.  He survives and resides in Coolspring

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, cooking for her family was her passion.  She was selfless and always cared about everybody else and how they were doing.  Her favorite hobby was playing Bingo at the local halls in the surrounding area.

In addition to her husband Clair, she is survived by two sons, Perry Neal and wife Georgetta of Punxsutawney, and Todd Neal and wife Kelly of Waynesboro, PA; five grandchildren, Latasha, Shannen, Katelin, Ty and Faith; two great grandchildren, Rosie and Shelby; one brother, Bill Pearce and wife Doris of NY; two sisters, Daisy Walters of MI, and Shirley Unsworth of Punxsutawney.

Preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Sara K. Neal, one brother, Bob Pearce, and one sister, Ruth Jones.

Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Carole Bergman.

Interment will be at Mahoning Union Cemetery in Marchand.

Memorial donations may be made in Betty’s memory to the American Heart Association.
