John “Jack” Leo Sisk, 80, of Punxsutawney passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.
He was born on May 01, 1938 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late John David and Olga Marie (Lang) Sisk.
He married the former Jeanne L. Coble. She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.
Jack worked in sales and management for many years with Jefferson Wholesale Grocery. After retirement he enjoyed doing carpentry work and painting for others, he liked staying busy.
Mr. Sisk served on Punxsutawney Borough Council for four terms. Councilman was a position which he took very seriously and sought to always make the right decision for the community.
Jack was a former volunteer fireman with Lindsey Fire Company.
His biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family at the camp in Tanoma.
He was a huge Notre Dame football fan and enjoyed any Notre Dame sport.
In addition to his wife Jeanne, he is survived by three children, Julie Vassallo and husband Bill of Punxsutawney, James “Bernie” Sisk and wife Meg of Greensboro, NC; and John “Jack” Sisk and wife Laurie of Home, PA; three grandchildren, Adam Vassallo and wife Whitney of Bethel Park, Aaron and Hannah Sisk of Greensboro, NC; one great granddaughter, Carson Vassallo and a great grandson due to arrive in August; and one brother, William Sisk and wife Judy of Punxsutawney.
Preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Ann Sisk.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2018 at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
