Charles Monroe Wolfe, 85, of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at home.
He was born on March 22, 1932 in Ebensburg, a son of the late Cecil Charles and Lillie Agnes (McClinsey) Wolfe.
On November 24, 1973 he married the love of his life, Carol Willine (Lacey) Chunko. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2017. They enjoyed over fifty years together, although not all were married years. He lovingly cared for his wife Carol through her illness, and sadly mourned her passing.
Mr. Wolfe drove school bus for Punxsy Bus Company and Krise Bus Company for twenty years. He was also “a Jack of all trades” having worked at many different jobs over his lifetime.
He loved to talk and enjoyed meeting new people, he could strike up a conversation with anyone.
His favorite things in life were his family and playing Bingo. He was a familiar face at Valier and Summerville Bingo.
Survived by four children, John Chunko Jr. and Catherine Sinclair of Punxsutawney, Jody Lynn Skuce and husband Martin, Sr. of Penn Hills, Jeffrey Chunko and wife Lisa of Punxsutawney, and Jill Skidmore and husband David of Punxsutawney; Eight grandchildren, Martin Skuce, Jr. and wife Lori of Niagara Falls, Tina Skuce of Plum, Starr Ananea and husband Kevin of Punxsutawney, Johnathon Skidmore and wife Jessica of Springhill, TN, Jonathon Chunko of Bradford, Tim White of Ohio, Amanda White of Punxsutawney, and Thomas White of Punxsutawney; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dororthy Bennett and husband David of Punxsutawney, and Catherine Diem of Ransomville, NY.
Preceded in death by his dear wife Carol, his parents, one brother, Harold Wolfe, five sisters, Virginia Beer, Eliza Alice Mills, Anna Gould, Sarah Knarr and Lillian Grace Weber.
There will be no visitation. Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Punxsutawney.
Friends are encouraged to stop by his home at 409 Sutton Street, Punxsutawney, at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 for a small gathering in Charles memory.
