Betty Elizabeth Copenhaver

Betty Elizabeth Copenhaver, 88, of Falls Creek, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Nelson’s Golden Years.

She was born in Cartersville, Georgia on August 31, 1929, a daughter of the late Henry and Ruth (Armstrong) Shaddix.

Betty was the wife of Oscar Copenhaver.  He preceded her in death in 1989.

Miss Betty will be remembered as a “Southern Belle” that was always very ladylike and had incredible charm and grace.  She worked as Party Coordinator and Banquet Waitress at the Treasure Lake County Club for over thirty years.  She enjoyed her work and a was people person, she was very independent and hardworking.  Miss Betty always worried about her kids and their wellbeing above all else.

Survived by two granddaughters, Christina Ross and Michelle Houston, both of Falls Creek; three great granddaughters, Sarah Houston, Samantha Ross-Frisbe and Elizabeth Harris; one great-great granddaughter, Sophia; A daughter of the heart, Stella Akers and granddaughter of the heart, Heather Cooke; two brothers, Lee and Carey Shaddix.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Oscar, only daughter, Elaine Houston.

A private memorial service will be held.  Arrangements entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
