Bernice Saeger Obituary

Bernice Alyne Saeger, 102, of Northpoint, passed away quietly on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Mulberry Square.

She was born on August 12, 1915 in Northpoint, Indiana County, a daughter of the late Charles and Annie (Snyder) Reitz.

Bernice was a member of the Northpoint United Methodist Church.

Ms. Saeger worked as an inspector at Prammco/Sportswear.

Her family was the most important thing in her life.  She had a very close relationship with her daughter Barb and her grandchildren, Randy and Melissa.

She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, watching television and reading.  However, when the Moore Brothers entertained at Mulberry Square, she really lit up with excitement.

Survived by one daughter, Barbara Ruth and husband James of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Randy Ruth and wife Julie of DuBois, and Melissa Ruth of Punxsutawney; two great grandchildren, Daisy Ruth of Tampa, FL and Brock Ruth of DuBois; one nephew, Richard Reitz of Northpoint; one niece, Jean White of LaFayette, IN.

Preceded in death by her parents, brother Paul Reitz, and sister, Faye Reardon.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney, officiated by Pastor Tom Topar.

Her ashes will be interred at Northpoint Cemetery, Indiana County.

Memorial donations may be made in Bernice’s memory to Northpoint United Methodist Church or Mulberry Square Activity Fund.
