Bernard Joseph Lemmer

Bernard Joseph Lemmer, 77, of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017, at Penn Highlands Dubois.
He was born on December 11, 1939 in Lexington, Nebraska, a son of the late Henry Lemmer and Annabelle (Booth) Lemmer.
Bernard married Linda Raelene (Peterson) Lemmer. She survives him and resides in Punxsutawney.
Mr. Lemmer was a veteran of the United States Army where he served for 22 years as a communication expert.  After retiring from the Army, he worked on Power Plants.
He loved to travel overseas where he coached football in Oxford, Germany. He also was a coach for little league.
Bernard was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and his dog Billie Jean.

In addition to his wife, Linda; he is survived by one son Bryan Lemmer and wife Cherlean of Nebraska; two grandchildren, Shina and Andrew of Nebraska; one sister, Merna Lemmer of Texas.

 Bernard was preceded in death by a son, Conan Lemmer; and numerous siblings.

Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., in Punxsutawney.
