Allen McManus Obituary

Allen Lloyd McManus, 62, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at home.

He was born on January 21, 1956 in Punxsutawney.  He was the son of the late Richard and Betty (Blystone) McManus.

Mr. McManus served in the United States Army at Fort Sill in Oklahoma following his high school graduation.

On April 26, 1986 he married the former Judy L. Yeager.  She survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

Al was a very dedicated and hard worker.  He worked for Yeager Sanitation as a garbage truck driver for many years.  He was a very mechanical person and was able to always keep his truck in working order and on the road.

He liked to draw and had a creative side. Al could take someone else’s junk and repurpose it into a nifty looking red tractor mailbox, complete with wheels and tires that had been discarded.  He loved to spend time in his garage working on anything automotive related.  Going to car shows and races with his family was a great enjoyment for Al.  He and his daughter Kelsie were looking forward to her taking him for a drive when she got her learners permit, unfortunately they were not able to take that ride together.

In addition to his wife Judy, he is survived by four children, Kelsie Kiann McManus and Derik Allen McManus, Chrissy Lynne Delancey of Indiana, and Chrissy Dawn Haubrick of Rossiter; several grandchildren; one brother, Larry McManus and wife Pam of Marion Center; four sisters, Marcia Little and husband John of Clymer, Tara Seger and husband Rod of Rossiter, Candy Rishell of Punxsutawney and Crystal Pearce of Punxsutawney; John Pearce; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; one sister in-law, Amy Courson and husband Pete; three brother in-laws, Eugene Yeager and wife Kathy, Richard Yeager and wife Amy, Randy Yeager and wife Deb; great nephew, Malaki Bair.

Preceded in death by his brother in-law, Roger Yeager.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor James H. Braunns, Jr.

Interment will follow at Ringgold United Methodist Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the family.
