Ruth Elizabeth Boozer

Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Boozer, 83, passed away quietly on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the DuBois Nursing Home where she resided for the past five years.  Mrs. Boozer was born in Timblin (Corbett Town) on March 25, 1933, a daughter of the late John and Twila R. (Minich) Kunselman.  Ruth was married to Charles Boozer, Jr. May 1953 in Worthville, PA where they resided until 1989.  Charles currently resides in Punxsutawney.      

During her lifetime, Ruth worked at both Sylvania Electric in Brookville and Rola Jensen in Punxsutawney.  Ruth was formerly a member of the Canoe Ridge Church of God in Rossiter and took pleasure in spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. 

Mrs. Boozer is survived by her husband, Charles; a daughter, Avis Keener and her husband John of Ringgold; a son, Gary Boozer and his wife Kimberly of Rossiter; two sisters, Janice Filler of Long Beach, CA and Rose Geer and her husband Michael of Brookville.  Ruth is also survived by five grandchildren, Adam, Kyle, and Brett Boozer; and, Jessica and Christopher Keener.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, John Kunselman; and two sisters, Anna Mae Bell and Darlene Mannis.

In keeping with the family's wishes, funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., in Punxsutawney.  Ruth will be interred at the Worthville Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
