Nicholas Lellock, Sr. 93, of Punxsutawney passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mr. Lellock was born on October 10, 1922 in Kramer, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Paholsky) Lellock.
Nick was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School Class of 1941 and the Dale Carneige School of Public Speaking.
On August 24, 1957, he married Gloria Isabelle Maruca, who survives.
Nick worked as an Inventory Manager/ Insurance Sales in the manufacturing/retail business, as he was employed by Pramco and various insurance companies during his career.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, sitting on the bank at Cloe Lake drowning worms and waiting for the elusive “Big One”. He also liked hunting and especially took pleasure in cooking spaghetti dinners for the guys at camp.
Nick was a member of the Kiwanis and Boy Scouts. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. Nick also had a very special friend in his cat “Ginger”. The two were buddies.
Surviving relatives include his wife Gloria; three sons, Nicholas Lellock, Jr. and wife Susan of Virginia; James W. Lellock of Punxsutawney, and David E. Lellock and wife Alicia of Middletown, Virginia; a grandson, Nicholas E. Lellock of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six sister, Mary, Catherine, Ann, Veronica, Julie and Amber; and four brothers, John, Michael, Joseph, and George.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at SS Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Punxsutawney, celebrated by Father James Ragan.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Lellock’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
