Mrs. Laurie L. Mangan, 49, of Ringgold passed away at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh on Monday, August 28, 2017.  Laurie was born in Jamestown, NY on July 6, 1968 to Bonita Ann Darling.  Laurie's mother, Bonita and her step-father, J.D. Culver both survive and reside in Union City, PA.  Laurie married William R. Mangan, Jr., on June 22, 2016.  William also survives and resides in Ringgold.
Laurie was a certified nurse's assistant and worked for Jefferson County Homemaker providing personal care assistance for many local area clients.  Laurie was a member of the First Church of God in Punxsutawney and was extensively involved with the Brownies and Girl Scouts ... a passion that she enjoyed very much.  Laurie loved to be in the kitchen cooking and baking lots of treats for her family and friends.  She also had an artistic side and was quite adept at making crafts and decorating wedding cakes ... two other passions she took great pleasure in doing.   Perhaps most of all, Laurie loved her grandchildren and delighted in their company spending time with them as often as possible.  Laurie certainly left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved her and will be missed tremendously.
Laurie is survived by her husband, William R. Mangan, Jr.; her mother, Bonita Ann Darling and step-father, J.D. Culver; six children, Alesha Eberle of Muncy, PA; Angela "Angel" Troup and husband Richard of Dora; Tommie J. "T.J." Elder, Sr. of Houtzdale;  Ricky Elder, Jr. and wife Mable of Punxsutawney; Jeremy Mangan of Pittsburgh; and Olivia Mangan of Ringgold. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Culver and wife Yvonne of Corry, PA and six sisters; Patricia Rye and husband Billy of MS; Eunice Little and husband Greg of Springfield, MO; Gloria Elder and husband Lenny of Union City; Stacy Rodriguez and husband Edgar of DeLuth, GA; Annette Spencer and husband Dale of Union City; and Peggy Ward and husband Terry of Union City.  Her mother-in-law, Lupe Mangan and former mother and father-in-law, Barb and Leonard Lloyd, and sister-in-law Valerie Lloyd of Punxsutawney also survive her.  Laurie's beloved grandchildren are, Malinda, Maverick, Ryan, Amber, Arthur, Jordan, Jaiedan, Kaydance, Zaydance, Tommie J. Jr., Natalie, Koby, Kylanni, and Nathan.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc in Punxsutawney.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Smith officiating.
Laurie will be interred at Zion Cemetery in Porter, PA.
