James Colberg Obituary

Mr. James David Colberg, 71 of Treasure Lake, passed away at the DuBois Nursing Home on Friday, April 20, 2018.  James was born on August 8, 1946 in Patton Pa, a son of the late George and Evelyn (Voelker) Colberg.   He was married to his wife Barbara for 43 years.  Barbara survives and resides at Treasure Lake. 
During his lifetime, Jim worked for Penstan, Inc for a number of years where he was a manager at Ebensburg, Altoona, and DuBois.  He was later employed by BiLo Plumbing and Heating of DuBois until his retirement.  Jim loved being outdoors, enjoyed watching western movies and sports; especially, the Pirates and Steelers, which he was a huge fan of.  Jim enjoyed being with his family and loved his great-grandchildren.  He was a member of St. Catherine’s Siena Catholic Church in DuBois.  
In addition to his wife, Barbara, Jim is survived by two sons; Bruce Colberg and wife Georgia of Glen Campbell, Kurt Colberg and wife Aimee of DuBois; his daughters Pamela Smith and husband Joseph of Hanover, PA, and V. Christine Reed and husband Randy of Punxsutawney.  Jim is also survived by four brothers; John Colberg and wife Judy of Carrolltown, Joel Colberg and wife Nancy of Gains, SC, Mark Colberg and wife Kimberly of Carrolltown, and Eric Colberg, also of Carrolltown.  Jim is survived by several nieces and nephews, several grandchildren, and several step great-grandchildren. 
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn, and infant brother Matthew Colberg and infant sister Faith Colberg.
Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Big Run.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, celebrated by Monsignor Richard Siefer.
Interment will follow at Ridgemount Cemetery, Bell Township, Punxsutawney.
