Howard Delano Bish, 85, of Punxsutawney, passed away quietly on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Mr. Bish was born January 02, 1933 in Porter Township, a son of the late Jesse Frank and Margaret (Justice) Bish. Howard married the former Betty Jane Tersine. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2000.
Mr. Bish was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his service to country, Howard worked for many years in electric motor repair for Punxsy Electric which later became Electro-mec. In his spare time, Howard enjoyed square dancing with his wife Betty and playing golf. Together, he and Betty especially looked forward to their annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach. In addition to his passion for golf, Howard particularly liked being outdoors and previously enjoyed hunting and fishing as well.
He is survived by one son, Randy Bish and wife Wendy of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Matthew Bish, and Alan Bish and fiancé’ Laura Uplinger; two great grandchildren, Joey and Cassie; one brother, Gene Bish of OK; one sister, Clairbelle Bish of Glen Campbell.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Betty; one brother, Clyde Bish; two sisters, Louise Rowse and Beverly Mosier.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 09, 2018 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held immediately following, at 8 p.m. at the funeral home, celebrated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.
Howard will be entombed at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
