Gary Russell Henry

Gary Russell Henry, 59, of Ringgold passed away suddenly at Penn Highlands Elk, St. Marys Hospital in St. Marys, PA on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.  Gary was born in Punxsutawney on October 13, 1957 to the late Ledsel and Betty Jean (Penman) Henry.  Gary married Dawn Renee Goble on May 16, 1992.  Dawn survives and resides in Ringgold.

Gary especially enjoyed riding his "Harley", working on cars in his garage, and hunting season.   Gary's family was his world.  He cherished spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He also liked being around people and made friends easily.  Gary was the type of guy who always had time to lend a helping hand to others, no matter how busy he was.  He lived life to the fullest with a smile on his face and giving in his heart.

In addition to his wife, Dawn, Gary is survived by his three daughters; Kala Smith and husband Andrew of Hamilton, Kara Hoffman and husband William of New Bethlehem, and Britney Moore and husband Andrew of Punxsutawney.  Gary is also survived by two brothers; Dave Henry and Robert "Bob" Penman of  Delancey; and, four grandchildren plus "one on-the-way".  His grandchildren are, Brady and Alie Moore, Kylee Hoffman, and Grayson Smith.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Butch Riderr, his sister, Carolyn Bevak, and an infant sister, Amy Henry.

Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. in Punxsutawney.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Stiver officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gary's memory to the American Heart Association. 

Gary will be interred at the Fairview Cemetery in Rochester Mills.
