Edith Mae Davidson, 88, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, September 17, 2016 at home in Saline, Michigan surrounded by her granddaughter Diana (Dave) and great-grand sons Mark and Nicholas.
Born July 21, 1928 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Merrill Snyder and Ollie (Resenes) Snyder. She was a member of Cloe United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Davidson was a retired Special Education school teacher for the Punxsutawney school system for over 30 years.
On August 28, 1944, she married Lynn Albert Davidson, he preceded her in death. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and stained glass. She and her late husband loved to travel to Florida in the winter months; they spent fourteen winters in the south.
She is survived by one adopted daughter in Michigan, a granddaughter, Diana Jo Smith (Dave Woolley) of Saline, Michigan, and three additional grandchildren; two great grandchildren Mark and Nicholas Borgman of Saline, Michigan, and eight additional great grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers Merrill and Bill and by one sister Imogene.
Friends will be received from 7-9 pm of Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
