Craig Kniseley, 74 passed away quietly surrounded by his loving family at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, PA early Thursday morning on January 19, 2017.  Mr. Kniseley was born in Pinecreek Township on April 5, 1942 a son of the late Clair and Dorothy Viola (Studt) Kniseley.  Craig married Margaret "Peggy"  White on July 17, 1959.  Peggy Survives and lives in the Knoxdale area. 

Craig was self-employed as a logger his entire married life eventually forming "Kniseley Logging" with his son Rodney.  Besides his appreciation for working in the woods as a logger, Craig loved music, especially Bluegrass and attended festivals as often as time permitted.  He also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing seldom missing an opportunity to play music with "Hit and Miss" at the Reynoldsville Senior Center where he also attended prayer meetings.   When not busy with his logging business, attending Bluegrass festivals, or playing music, Craig liked mowing grass with his John Deere tractor and gardening.  He particularly enjoyed canning his harvest and giving most of it away.  Craig was the kind of man who just enjoyed staying busy no matter the task. 

In addition to his wife, Peggy, Craig is survived by four children; Delores Jean "Dolly" Neff and her husband John of Townsend, DE, Rodney Kniseley and his wife Darlene of Knoxdale, David Kniseley and his wife Tommee of Cheyenne, WY, and Brenda Kniseley of Ridgway.  His surviving siblings are Lyle Kniseley of Reynoldsville, Grant Kniseley and his wife Pat of Brookville, Judy Reese and her husband Tom of Wakefield, VA, and Beatrice Kniseley and Joe Kidd of Wetumpka, AL.  Craig is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Craig was preceded in death by two sons, Edward Clair Kniseley and Stephen Craig Kniseley.

Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Shumaker Funeral Home, inc., Punxsutawney.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 with Pastor Joni Williams officiating.  Friends will also be received on Monday at 10 a.m. until the funeral service.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Rossiter.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Kniseley's memory to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA  or Knoxdale United Methodist Church, PO Box 90, Knoxdale, PA 15847.
