Carrie Elizabeth Scully

Carrie Elizabeth Scully, 80, of Punxsutawney,  passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Mulberry Square.

She was born on December 13, 1936 at home in McCalmont Township, Jefferson County, a daughter of the late Viola Belle "Vada" (Zimmerman) and Clarence Edward Pifer.

Carrie worked for many years as a registration clerk at Adrian Hospital.

In spite of her many health problems in her life, she worked diligently and raised her daughters in a loving home.

She was a very caring mother and grandmother.  Her grandchildren brought her great joy as she had time to enjoy them as they grew up.

Survived by her two daughters, Cindy Lee Scully , and Linda Sue Fox and husband Jeff, all of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Jaron Fox and wife Adelay of South Korea, and Jayna Doutt and husband Kyle of Indiana, PA; one sister, Nora Whirl and husband Bill of Hermitage.

There will be no viewing, however, friends will be received from 1 -3 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Shumaker Funeral Home, inc., Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Guy Smith.

Her ashes will be interred at a later date at Pifer Cemetery, McCalmont Township.

Memorial donations may be made in Carrie's memory to the American Cancer Society.
