Allen Fulton States

Allen F. States, 77, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at LifeCare Hospitals of Pittsburgh-Alle-Kiski in Natrona Heights.

He was born November 09, 1939 in Janesville (Clearfield County) PA, a son of the late Eugene Noel and Relda Faye (Davis) States.

Mr. States had previously worked at Skat Oil Company, Pepsi Cola truck delivery/driver, and also worked in the coal industry.

On April 05, 1958 he married the love of his life, Alverta Mae Blystone.  The two were wonderful companions for one another, where there was one the other was nearby.  Alverta survives him and resides in Punxsutawney.

Mr. States was actively involved in Boy Scouts as a leader for several years.  He enjoyed woodworking, yard work and gardening.  He was a good husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children; Edward States and wife Deb,, Thomas States and Renee Lukehart, Lillie Gould and husband Jay, Timothy States, Douglas States and wife Shelley, all of Punxsutawney, and Richard States and wife Janna of Ohio; thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren; four brothers, George States and wife Shirley of Port Allegany, Sam States of California, Charles States and wife Marlene of Punxsutawney and John States and wife Bridget of Punxsutawney.

Preceded in death by his parents, two granddaughters, Loren Hope States and Danielle Buterbaugh; two brothers, Robert Davis and James States; one sister, Sara Jane States.

There will be no viewing as per Mr. States wishes.

His ashes will be interred at Pleasant Hill EUB Cemetery.
