Alice Mae Stiver

Alice Mae Stiver, 76, of Coolspring, passed away Friday, February 17, 2017 at Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born on March 18, 1940 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Glenn and Anna (Bowser) Bodenhorn.

On New Years Eve 1959 she became the wife of H. Max “ Mick” Stiver, together they enjoyed fifty seven years of marriage. Mick survives and resides in Coolspring.

Alice was a faithful member of Coolspring United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, Bible School Director and a member of the Ladies Aid.

Her enjoyments were her grandchildren, bird watching, flower gardening, painting, and collecting angels.

In addition to her husband Mick, she is survived by four children, Gregory Stiver and wife Bridget of Johnstown, Daniel Stiver and wife Sue Ellen of Coolspring, Oren “Butch” Stiver and Ranee Hicks of Coolspring, and Becky Peterman and husband Jerrad of Leechburg; nine grandchildren, Zach Stiver and wife Katie, Ashley Domres and husband Ryan, Crystal Mock and husband Justin, Gregory “Bo” Stiver and  Bobbie Sue, Molly Barlow, Daniel Stark, Emma Peterman, and Jackson and Jace Stiver; four great grandchildren, Rylee and Wyatt Mock and Caitlyn and Roxann Domres; two brothers, Harry Bodenhorn and wife Mary, and Edward Bodenhorn and wife Connie, all of Coolspring; five sisters, Judy Boboige and husband Frank of Punxsutawney, Barb Young and husband Lon of Worthville, Betty Burkett and husband John of Punxsutawney, Dottie Snyder and husband Dick of Coolspring, and Tammy Wolfgang of Corsica.

Preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Morris Bodenhorn.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, February 20, 2017 at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday at the funeral home, co-officiated by Pastor's Paul Thompson and Michael Garvey.

Interment will be at Coolspring Cemetery.
